Job Site Evaluation

One of the most important responsibilities you may have is scouting the job site before designing the wall. The following list is from the NCMA manual. If you have a site evaluation to complete, make sure you address each of the following items.

Soil and fill material should not be frozen
Foundation Soil-matches or exceeds soil type and strength assumed for design
Retained Soil-matches or exceeds soil type and properties assumed for design
Wall Heights-do not exceed design heights
Slopes-no steeper than design
Loading-does not exceed design
